‘Dock of the Bay’ Photo shoot

I recently had the pleasure to work with brand manager Sue Clarke from Dock of the Day who asked me to put together a team to produce a spring catalogue and Look book for her companies 2015 spring summer range of casual outdoor clothing. So, I needed three models, two hairstylists, Make-up two photo assistants, a studio, and out and indoor locations, all to be sourced locally…..easy. Well it was far from easy, really challenging to find good hairstylist in Suffolk, and a male model and a good location that fitted Sue’s vision and ticked all the boxes.
I have to say a big thank you to staff at the Butt & Oyster pub http://www.debeninns.co.uk/buttandoyster/ for being so accommodating. This location was just perfect for what we had in mind, and the nearby boatyards added to the style of the product we were shooting. My buddy Anthony Cullen gave use the use of his great studio, in Pinn Mill, which was also perfect. http://www.anthonycullen.com
We then moved on to Ipswich Marina and took use of its great backdrop.
The weather stayed fine, but the lighting was definitely tricky meaning that I had to use a combination of location lighting and natural daylight, which was very flat. My team all worked well together, and the client was more than happy with the finished results.
